MAROPS is situated on the top floor of Fullbridge Mill in the historical east coast port of Maldon within an hour of London by train or car. The company was established to meet the demand for security training and consultancy in the shipping industry due to the introduction of the ISPS Code in July 2004 and has recruited a team of experts to support its principal objective of high quality security advice

Ship’s crews and harbour authorities have traditionally left the concerns for security to the local police and coastguard and, as a consequence, have little if any expertise in these matters. Furthermore, with the ever-increasing demands on ship’s staff there is a need to achieve the requirements of the ISPS Code without prejudicing the ship’s capacity to operate effectively. MAROPS is a group of security experts drawn from the Merchant Navy, Royal Navy, Police and other armed forces to provide consultancy to the maritime community whilst delivering high quality training on the mandatory courses required by the ISPS Code.
