MAROPS was formed to satisfy a need within the maritime industry for high quality training and consultancy with regard to the requirements of the ISPS Code introduced on the 1 July 2004. Harbour authorities and ship’s crews and have traditionally left the concerns for security to the local police and coastguard and as a consequence have little if any expertise in these matters. Furthermore, the ever-increasing demands on staff is reflected in a need to provide support and expertise to the maritime community in order to achieve the requirements of the ISPS Code without prejudicing the port and ship’s capacity to operate effectively.A highly experienced team of consultants to assist both ports and shipping companies in all aspects of maritime security. MAROPS experts have a thorough knowledge of the requirements of the International Ship & Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and are not only accredited by TRANSEC to provide first class training for the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), but can also provide consultancy to the maritime community by conducting security assessments, audits and reviews of security plans. An additional course is the ISPS Acquaint that will provide the background and issues with regard to the Code and its implementation appropriate for Senior Managers. MCA accredited courses for Ship Security Officer (SSO) and Company Security Officer (CSO) are available on request.
